Safety

First and foremost, never leave a burning candle unattended. Every year, numerous house fires are caused this way, so make sure you don’t become one of those statistics!

Ensure your candle is placed on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface and is kept away from flammable objects and draughts. Use caution when handling your candle, as the glass can get very hot due to the naked flame.

Inspect your candle carefully before lighting it. Even something as minor as a tiny hairline crack in the glass can cause the jar to shatter when the candle burns, and the glass heats up.
We advise stopping use of the candle when only 10mm of wax remains in the jar. At this point, the flame burns hottest, and without sufficient wax, there’s a small risk it could cause extreme stress on the glass, leading to cracks.

Finally, keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.

Looking After Your Candle
Before you light or relight your candle, always be sure to trim the wick to about 10mm in length. This simple step will help you achieve a longer, cleaner burn from your candles.

When lighting your candle, try using extra-long matches or a lighter to avoid burning your fingers. We’ve learned from experience, and trust us, it’s better to be safe! If you do use long matches, be sure to remove any debris, as leftover bits can cause the candle to soot and make the glass hotter than it should be.

Always place your candle on a flat, level surface away from any draughts to ensure an even burn.
We know that they smell great, but to ensure you get the best from your candles we suggest you burn them for 3-4 hours at a time to allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the glass. This prevents tunnelling and helps you get the most out of your candles.
If you need to extinguish the candle before the wax pool reaches the edges, skip trimming the wick before the next burn and allow it to burn long enough to reach the sides.
