At this time of year we know that the beautiful sunny days are numbered as we begin to leave summer behind. But the end of summer on Arran also means that the hillsides are filled with the colour and fragrance of iconic Scottish heather. This is one of our favourite times to head into Arran's hills for long walks surrounded by a sea of purple.
